Todd H. Vandervort, President
Todd H. Vandervort, President of The Vandervort Group, LLC, has been with the firm since 1987. Mr. Vandervort specializes in several practice areas including small business, construction, environment, energy, health care, transportation, taxation, telecommunications and contract procurement, as well as grass roots lobbying and coalition-building. He also navigates clients through the procurement process in New York State.
Mr. Vandervort's most notable legislative accomplishments include enactment of a model bill providing sales tax relief for materialmen; increasing the maximum jurisdictional amount of commercial claims in all courts from $2,000 to $5,000; creation of a Cadet Appointments Program at SUNY Maritime College; and the enactment into law of a bill that provides for testing of emergency medical personnel that have been exposed to a significant risk of transmission of HIV during the course of their employment. Most recently, he successfully advocated for a "best value" approach to the printer aggregate purchase initiative at the New York State Office of General Services, Office for Technology and the Office of the CIO.
Mr. Vandervort also serves on the President's Council of the Business Council of NYS, Inc. as well as several key committees of the Business Council. In addition, he is a member of the Empire State Society of Association Executives, the New York State Forum's IT Corporate Roundtable, the Center for Economic Growth, the Guilderland YMCA and Guilderland YMCA’s Circle of Champs, of which he was a founding member. He is president of the Sarah Wells and William Bull Stone House Association in Orange County, and a previous Board member of the University Club of Albany. (todd@vandervortgroup.com)
