Margaret L. Vandervort, Legislative Director and Business Manager

Margaret joined the firm in September, 1989 and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the firm.  As Legislative Director, Margaret manages the firm's legislative affairs including tracking legislation, regulations and state procurement opportunities; preparing written memorandums in support of or opposition to legislation; preparing and submitting filings to the Commission on Public Integrity on behalf of the firm and its clients; attending legislative and regulatory meetings and hearings; and assisting the lobbyists with preparation and execution of their daily tasks. 

To ensure that the firm and its clients are in full compliance with legislative and procurement lobbying laws, Margaret regularly attends meetings of the Advisory Council on Procurement Lobbying, the Commission on Public Integrity, and the NYS Procurement Council.  In addition, she sits on The Business Council Contract Procurement Committee and monitors and reports on activities at all levels of state and local government that impact the firm's clients.

As Business Manager, Margaret manages the firm's business, financial, and personnel issues.

Margaret serves on the Boards of the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation, The Kids Club, and the Family Committee at the Albany Country Club.
